Reverse Email Lookup
An address on its own tells you almost nothing. Reverse lookup turns a professional email into the person standing behind it and the company they work for — who they are, what they do, and where — so a bare signup or inbound lead arrives already enriched.
When someone signs up with a work email, that single string is the most valuable thing you have and the least useful as-is. Reverse lookup unpacks it: it identifies the individual, pulls their professional profile, and resolves their current company — the context you'd otherwise ask them for in a longer form or chase down by hand.
What comes back
A successful lookup resolves two things — the person and their company. Either can come back on its own: even when the specific individual can't be pinned down, the company behind the domain often still resolves.
| Subject | What you get |
|---|---|
| The person | Name, headline, current title, location, industry, professional summary, work history, education, and their LinkedIn profile. |
| The company | Name, website, industry, size and headcount, location, specialities, and its LinkedIn page. |
Each result carries a confidence level so you know how firmly the person was identified — from a high-confidence match down to "company only, person not identified." You can gate what you do with the data on that level.
Which addresses are supported
Reverse lookup is built for professional working mailboxes— a real person's address at the company they work for. Addresses that can't map to a working professional are declined up front, before any work is done, so you're never charged for a lookup that could never succeed:
| Address type | Supported? |
|---|---|
| A person’s work email ([email protected]) | Yes — this is what it’s for. |
| Public providers (gmail, outlook, yahoo, …) | No — not a company mailbox. |
| Role accounts (info@, support@, sales@) | No — not an individual. |
| Disposable / throwaway addresses | No — declined before any work. |
| Relay / forwarding addresses | No — declined before any work. |
Where it earns its keep
- Signup enrichment. Someone registers with a work email — instantly know their name, role, and company without a longer form.
- Inbound lead routing. Score and route a lead the moment it lands, based on the company and seniority behind the address.
- Shorter forms, higher conversion. Ask for the email and fill the rest yourself, instead of making people type it.
- Know who emailed you. Resolve the person and company behind an address in your inbox or support queue.
Speed and caching
Repeat lookups of the same address are served instantly and free from a short-lived cache, so enriching the same signup twice doesn't bill twice. See Data Freshness.
