1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use “similar technologies” — local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags — which serve comparable purposes. References to “cookies” in this policy include all such technologies.
2. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function — authentication, session integrity, security (CSRF protection), load balancing, and remembering essential preferences such as your selected workspace or theme. These cannot be disabled.
- Functional. Improve usability — language, layout preferences, dashboard sidebar state, recently-viewed endpoints. Optional.
- Analytics. Help us understand how the Service is used in aggregate so we can improve it. Only set with your consent in the EEA, UK, and other regions where required. Optional.
- Marketing. We do not currently use marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any.
3. Cookies we set
The principal cookies and storage keys we set are listed below.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sessionid | Authenticated session cookie. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| csrftoken | Protects against cross-site request forgery. | Strictly necessary | 1 year |
| renidly-theme | Remembers light/dark theme choice (localStorage). | Functional | Persistent |
| renidly-sidebar-collapsed | Remembers sidebar collapsed state (localStorage). | Functional | Persistent |
| renidly_workspace | Remembers selected workspace (personal / enterprise). | Strictly necessary | Persistent |
| renidly_onboarding | Tracks whether the product tour has been completed. | Functional | Persistent |
| renidly_hidden_announcement | Hides dashboard announcements you have already dismissed. | Functional | Persistent |
4. Third-party cookies
Some Service features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies, including:
- hCaptcha — bot protection on signup, login, and other public forms. See hCaptcha\'s privacy notice.
- Payment processor — when checking out, our payment provider may set cookies necessary for the transaction.
Third-party cookies are subject to those providers' own policies. We do not control their use.
5. Managing preferences
On Renidly itself, you can change your cookie choice at any time by opening the preferences modal:
You can also manage cookies in your browser settings — block all cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is stored. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break authentication and core dashboard features.
Where required by law, we present a consent banner on first visit and only set optional cookies after you accept. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
6. Do Not Track
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported and recognised under applicable law. We do not respond to legacy browser “Do Not Track” headers, which lack a consistent industry standard.
7. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
